福島さんといえば、豪快な窯変と力強い作り。
今回も緋色や自然釉が冴えまくっていますが、目を凝らすと超タイムリーな妖怪が！
荒々しい雰囲気の中にしっかりと掘り込まれた型による繊細なアマビエが壁画のように佇んでいます。
この組み合わせは斬新です。
アマビエは江戸時代から日本に伝わる妖怪で海の中から現れ「疫病が流行ったら姿を描き写し人々に見せよ」と言い残したとのことです。
福島さんは忠実に実行してくださいました。
自然釉の中のアマビエはまるで海に浮いているかのよう。
