Kazuhiro Fukushima

Fukushima's work is distinguished by its bold kiln effects and powerful forms that are unconstrained by conventional notions of balance and symmetry. In his recent Mino ware, these qualities have become even more pronounced through the addition of expressive glaze work. While his ceramics are firmly rooted in the lineage of Momoyama-period ceramics and modern Mino ware, their greatest appeal lies in the way they move beyond those influences, developing new forms of expression through his own distinctive sense of form.
